160-Watt Power Supply with Redundancy Function
LSP-160
The MEAN WELL LSP-160 is a slimline power supply that is only 20mm high, taking up very little space inside your equipment. With the 3.3V, 4.2V, and 5V models you can connect 2 units in parallel to provide a level of redundancy to your power system.
Cooling is achieved by conduction. This achieved by mounting the power supply on an aluminium plate, the required dimensions of this sheet are specified in the data sheet. Of course, this aluminium plate could be substituted for the metal housing of the finished product. This cooling method is particularly useful in applications, where you want to avoid dust or moisture being drawn into the power supply, which has the potential to result in premature failure. One application example is outdoor LED signage, where cool damp air may be present. These power supplies are also semi-potted to add a level of protection against damage from moisture ingress.
The LSP-160 power supplies have been designed to withstand a 300VAC surge for up to 5 seconds and a DC-OK alarm signal is provided for remote status monitoring.
