500-Watt Enclosed Fanless Power Supply
UHP-500
The MEAN WELL UHP-500 series power supplies have no fan, so there are no moving parts to fail. Cooling is achieved by mounting the power supply on a suitable sized aluminium plate (refer to data sheet for details), which conducts the heat away from the power supply. This plate could also be the enclosure in which the power supply is mounted. This makes these power supplies suitable for applications where you wish to avoid dusty, or damp air being drawn into the power supply by a cooling fan.
The universal range AC input is ideal for OEMs producing equipment for international markets.
There is a version available with a redundancy option. This allows 2 units to be connected in parallel, so should one unit fail the other can take over. This version also has a DC OK signal output for remote status monitoring.
The UHP-500 power supplies have a slim, low-profile design and can withstand a 300VAC surge for up to 5 seconds. They also feature active power factor correction.
