The MEAN WELL RQB150W12 series are an encapsulated module type, within an ultralow-profile body to ensure they consume minimal real estate. Although small, these converters can accept a wide input voltage range (14V ~ 160V, 12:1) and provide outputs of the most commonly used voltages,12, 24,48, & 54V. Protections are provided for short-circuit, overload, overvoltage, overtemperature and input under-voltage. 

The RQB150W12 series has a wide temperature range of -40°c - +90°c, so they can handle most climatic conditions that locomotives and multiple units may encounter. More importantly, they comply with railway standard EN50155. This standard covers aspects including temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, as well as other parameters, all of which are present in the rugged environments the railway industry must endure.
