Isolated DC to DC Converters: MEAN WELL SMU01-N and SMU02-N
Introducing to MEAN WELL Australia are the new SMU01-N and SMU02-N DC to DC converters, which replace the earlier predecessor models, the SMU01 and SMU02.
These low-wattage DC-to-DC converters, the 1-watt SMU01-N and 2-watt SMU02-N enable users to safely step up or down an isolated DC voltage input and convert it to a different DC voltage output.
The N variants build upon the strengths of the previous versions, expanding output voltages to 3.3VDC on the lower end and 24VDC on the higher end. For the SMU01-N, this model has expanded its input voltage capacities to accept 3.3VDC.
The new models also expand upon the former’s efficiency ratings, with the 1-watt model 80~88% efficiency, building up from 77~80% of the former, whereas its 2-N ranges from 81~90%, from 79~85% of its predecessor.
These models have slightly improved body designs, improving operating temperatures from 85°C to 105 °C. Please consult your desired model’s datasheet for specific efficiency at working and ambient temperatures.
The N variants are isolated DC-to-DC converters, both rated up to 1.5KVDC, which ensures the PCB and intended system are protected from surges.
OEMs can delight in pin-to-pin compatibility, reducing the need to redesign print circuit boards, as the dimensions of the N variants fit perfectly into the footprint of the former models.
The MEAN WELL SMU01-N and 02-N only build upon the well-earned trust and reliability of the SMU01 and 02 models. This new range offers higher efficiency ratings, reliable protections, and a greater operating temperature range, enabling lower and higher input/output ranges.
